Glossybox: March 2015 review

For those of you who aren’t familiar with this little monthly treasure box, Glossybox is a beauty subscription box that comes beautifully packaged, containing 5 beauty products and exclusive offers for Glossy subscribers. The cost is £10 per month plus £3.25 Royal Mail P&P (although discount is available when 3, 6 or 12 month plan is taken out).
I’ve been a member for about 18 months and to be honest there have been times I’ve thought about cancelling due to too many sample sized products or mainstream products I could just pick up in my local drugstore. The main reason I subscribed in the first place was to learn about new brands and try out products I might not necessarily gravitate towards in the shop. Having said that, Glossybox has been blowing it out of the water with their monthly offerings recently. Not only am I receiving lots of full sized products but am seeing plenty of brands I maybe haven’t heard of before as well as upcoming brands.
I thought doing a monthly review on the contents of my Glossybox would be a good regular blog post to upload and hopefully give those of you who aren’t subscribed an opportunity to read about the kind of brands and products they distribute.

Firstly, the box itself:
Then onto the contents:

NAOBAY – Moisturising Peeling – Full size: £13.71 for 100ml
My initial thought on this was ‘wow, a wooden lid, love it!’ Then you get to the actual product, a thin milky consistency with gritty exfoliating bits. This product is just lovely. I don’t really have any other words. I’ve been using this in the shower on damp skin and lightly massage for a few minutes. Afterwards my face felt soft and hydrated, the fact Naobay is an eco-brand and the product is organic is an added bonus!

Essence – Lash Princess Volume Mascara – Full size £3.30 for 12ml
If you’ve read one of my previous posts on the Younique 3D FiberLash you’ll know I’m not a massive fan of my eyelashes, they’re short, straight and just generally a bit MEH! So you can imagine my surprise when I tried this mascara out for the first time and my eyelashes did what I can only describe as ‘ping’. I haven’t figured out if it’s the wand or the consistency of this product but it just works! The shape of the wand is brilliant for use on upper and lower lashes due to the cobra head and left my lashes looking fuller and longer, plus I wasn’t wearing it halfway down my face by the end of the day.

Dove Advanced Hair Series – Youthful Vitality Shampoo and Conditioner – Full size: £5.99 for 250ml

At the grand old age of 25 I do hope Glossybox aren’t trying to tell me something by sending me these two! Whilst this product isn’t exactly suitable for my hair YET I have given it to my mum who has taken this review on for me and has commented it ‘smelt really lovely’ and ‘worked a treat’, so there you go!

ncLA – Nail Lacquer – Full size: £13 for 15ml
The main reason I am crushing on this product is the fact that it’s free from toxins and the flat applicator brush makes application a dream. I am always dubious about pastel/lighter shades of nail varnish as they usually require about 4 coats to look anything like opaque however two coats of this and you’re good to go. A perfect Spring in a bottle shade, nothing too garish or full on but a definite statement.

Sleek MakeUP – Pout Paint – Full size: £4.99 for 8ml
This isn’t the first time I have tried the pout paints, I already own a perfect nude and a fluro purple/pink which I absolutely love. This shade is an exact dupe for MAC Morange lipstick however the pout paints come with added glossiness! The application requires a lip brush so is a little more faffy but other than that it is long wearing and will last you forever.

    1. I would say at the moment they've been worth it every single month! I've had so many full sized products... Going to review them each month so if you decide to hold off I'll be sure to do another post for Aprils box :-) x

  2. This is really informative! I love the idea of paying £10 for so much stuff! I use my make up so quickly and it's expensive so thanks for blogging this!

    1. The price is brilliant! You also fill in an online profile so they can cater the products they send to you depending on things like hair colour and type, skin type and some general preferences about your likes and dislikes. I'm going to start reviewing them on a monthly basis when I've received them and had chance to use the products
