What's currently in my makeup bag

Makeup bag is by the brand MOR and I picked it up at T K Maxx
I've seen this tag a lot throughout blogs and YouTube accounts I follow and as a self-proclaimed makeup junkie, I decided it would make sense for me to do a post about what's made the short list into my makeup bag as of late.
I always use a mixture of high end and drug store products for two simple reasons. The first is that the likes of Boots and Superdrug carry fantastic brands with great offers and the second, well let’s face it, nobody wants a makeup bag full of pricey products that are inevitably going to run out at the same time!

Now let’s get one thing straight, I'm no makeup expert but all I do know is I like makeup, I have an abundance of the stuff that I’ll probably never even get through in a lifetime (although I’ll give it a good go) and I’ve gone through a lot of trial and error with various brands and products throughout the years. So here goes…
Nars Sheer Glow foundation in Barcelona - LINK
I fell in love with this foundation a few years ago, I love the flexibility to go from a really light coverage on good skin days to a buildable full coverage foundation if needed. Nars have a generous offering of shades and although a little more pricey at £31, I find I can make the 30ml bottle last twice as long as a lot of other foundations I have used.
No7 Crème Touch face powder in honey milk - LINK

I’m not overly precious about what powder I use, I never really go for high end as I believe the drugstore do brilliant dupes for a fraction of the price. Powder isn’t really an item I use to add much depth or detail to my face, just to mattify my t-zone and set my under eye concealer so as I had a money off coupon for No7 I decided to try out one of their powders. There is no chalkiness to the product unlike a lot of other powders and does the job brilliantly!

Yves Saint Laurent Rue de Babylone Blush Collector Palette – LINK TO SIMILAR

I really hate when bloggers write about limited edition products however forgive me as I have found an alternative that’s just as sweet as this little beauty. I love most things YSL when it comes to beauty, (or shoes, or bags etc. etc. etc.!!!) and this little gem was the perfect addition to my collection. The inner heart is deeper pink shimmer and the outer is a matte baby pink. They work really well swirled together or are also lovely on their own.

Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Babydoll - LINK
I keep repeat purchasing this, something I don’t do very often with makeup (unless we’re talking about foundation) but I just can’t find anything that compares. I do love Maybelline ‘The Falsies’ however I find it crumbles after a few hours wear. This product is more of a splurge but in my eyes definitely worth the £25 price tag.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer – LINK
I tried this after seeing the likes of Zoella and Tanya Burr using it in tutorials and I have to say it tops most of the other concealers I’ve used. Collection is not necessarily a brand I gravitate towards and I own very little products but it just ticks all of the boxes. The consistency is creamy, It’s easy to blend and provides a full coverage whilst somehow managing to altogether brighten the area. I use this more for under eye concealer and a MAC Pro-Longwear concealer for blemishes.

B.Defined Eyebrow kit Dark – LINK
I love nothing more than a strong brow game and when this arrived in my February Glossybox I was excited to try it out. The palette comes with two brow colours, a highlighter and brow setting gel. I always use a mixture of the two colours, lighter towards the inner part of my eyebrow and darker towards the middle and arch. The setting gel is useful (albeit a little sticky) to keep any unruly brow hairs in place, however the highlighter is not the best I’ve come across and doesn’t transfer very well from palette to skin. 3 out of 4 ain’t bad I guess.

Collection Extreme 24 hour felt tip liner - LINK
On the occasion I fancy doing ‘an eye’ instead of a lip in my makeup look, I always reach for this product. Having hooded eyes means I have to be careful what eyeliner I use as I don’t want to end up with an additional smudged wing half way up my socket by midday! This product ensures this doesn’t happen however when it comes to removing it I’m not rubbing my eye sore to get it off. It’s really affordable at £2.99 and comes in other colours for a fun change.

MAC Viva Glam II (satin finish) – LINK
I am loving the 90’s feel of this nude with a brown/mauve undertone. Not my usual go to but the finish is my favourite by MAC, it’s long lasting and just a little different to the ‘blanked out lips’ nudes I would usually go for (Hue, Crème D’Nude and Myth).
